Open-Faced Bacon Cheese Bread

Simple, hearty, and straight to the point.

Ingredients

• 2 slices whole-grain organic bread
• Coconut oil
• ½ onion, sliced
• 4 cloves garlic, minced
• Sea salt
• Cracked pepper
• Local Alberta jalapeño bacon
• 1 full avocado
• Dairy-free cheese

How It’s Made

Brush whole-grain bread lightly with coconut oil and bake in the oven until warm and lightly crisp.

In a pan, fry the onion and garlic until soft and fragrant. Add the jalapeño bacon and cook until just crispy.

Top the warm bread with the bacon mixture, sliced avocado, and dairy-free cheese. Finish with a pinch of sea salt and cracked pepper.

Simple ingredients. Big flavour. No overthinking it.
